Darkest of Days

Zero was stumbling through the empty halls, his head pounding. He leaned against the wall, holding the right side of his face, his eye covered. All day this had been happening. He had a nightmare to start it off. But this was like unlike any other nightmare he had before. In his nightmare, he was covered in blood, dead bodies littering the ground. But that wasnt the thing that disturbed Zero the most. It was just the aura he gave off and his eyes. The aura in his dream was crimson red and black, full of malevolence, murderous intent, and hatred. But the eyes of his dream self was what set it over the top. His eyes were filled with nothing but hatred, a lust for bloodshed, and madness. Zero shuddered when he thought about it.

Zero felt a sharp pain ripple throughout his body. All of his muscles contracted and he felt to the floor, holding himself. These pains were coming more and more frequently, each one more devastating and tiring than the last. He got up slowly, his body shaky. He had gone to the nurse, but she said that there was nothing wrong with him. He was sent back to his classes, but Zero had dealt with the pain all day, until now. It was about time to go, and he was released early. He shufled, but was too weak to go any further. He fell against a wall again, holding the right side of his face. Pain seemed to be radiating there. Little did he know, his right eye was slowly changing from Hazel to Crimson Red, true madness starting to show itself.

"D-deep breaths," Hasuhana mumbled as she walked through the empty halls. She had been excused from her chemistry class after she exploded a chemical and inhaled too much of it. Now she struggled to clip her bookbag shut, brushing her long dark hair out of her face as she did it. She wore a floaty pink blouse and a knee length lavender skirt with her traditional pink flip-flops, and as usual her ears were poking out of her hair. She rounded a corner and stopped short. It was Zero, who she seemed to be running into a lot lately, and he was leaning against the wall, holding his face. "Ah..." she gasped, jogging towards him. "A-are you ok... do you need h-help?" she asked, placing one of her hands on his shoulder as she peered into his face.

Zero barely heard Hasuhana's voice, his head was pounding. Blood roared in his ears. He looked at Hasuhana, but something had change. His left eye was the same as always, a soft hazel color. But his right eye was another story. It had completely changed colors, going from its usual hazel to a deep crimson red, like the color of blood. Within in it, you could see nothing but hatred, malice, murderous intent, and insanity. "I...I'm fine..." Zero said, pushing himself up, steadying himself against the wall. He was a bit uneven, but he started to walk away, stumbling a bit, but walking away all the same.

Hasuhana stepped back when she saw his other eye. She was unable to look away, she felt like she could almost see the hate it it. Se caught his arm when he started to walk away. "W-wait!" she said, her voice shaking slightly with fear. "Y-your e-eye..." she stuttered, trailing off. "Its... r-red... are you s-sure you're a-alright...? Maybe you need a d-doctor," she said.

"I'm alright." Zero said, his voice with a bit of anger in it. He gently took his hand away and started walking again, unevenly. He could feel the darkness spreading within him. It felt horrible. If anything were to happen, he didn't want to harm his friends in the process. These negative emotions welling up inside of him, hatred, malice, these urges to kill anything in sight. They were overwhelming. He gritted his teeth and kept walking.

She let him take her hand away and she watched him start to walk away, before following him at a distance. She didn't know what to do... he obviously needed help but if she went to get help she might not be able to find him again. She figured he would be able to hear her, but she wanted to see what was going on with him... she hadn't seen anything like it. She was also hoping they would come across someone else who could get help.

*Celest was strolling down the hallways as the prefect, looking for anyone doing what they shouldn't be doing. She turns the corner of the hall to see the two people. She blinks and recalls their names from their student files. Zero Kagi and Seishin Hasuhana. She sees Zero looking terrible and walks over to him.*
What's wrong with you?

"Nothing." Zero grumbled, walking past her. He could sense Hasuhana following him, but he said nothing. He stumbled a bit, becoming lightheaded for a second, before continuing to walk. His right eye stayed Crimson Red, but his left eye seemed unaffected. He stopped for a second, and looked behind him. He saw Celest and Hasuhana, making sure they got a good look at his crimson red eye. Seeing the hatred in that cursed eye.

Hasuhana saw the girl approach and she shuddered when she saw the red eye again. Then she looked back at the other girl. "Something's w-wrong with his eye... its like... something h-horrible's radiating out of it," she mumbled to the girl when she got closer. She still watched Zero carefully, looking for any sign that he was going to attack or do anything of the sort.

*Celest sighed and walked closer to Zero.*
Don't play Lone Ranger with me, mmkay Kemo Sabe?
*She peers into his red eye*
Hmm. Haven't seen eyes like that in a looong time...So full of hatred and anger....
*She grips his arm*
Come on. You're coming with me.

Zero felt her hand grip around his arm. He didn't do anything. He knew that she was a prefect, and any action against her would cause a severe reaction. This abomidable feeling came up, just to rip her limb from limb just for touching him. He followed her, blood still roaring in his ears.

Hasuhana watched him follow the girl, letting her pull him away. She began following again, still at a distance, repulsed by the eye but too curious to leave it at that. She was also worried about him. She didn't know him to well, but he never seemed to have the kind of hatred radiating off of him that now showed.

*Celest feels the malevolence roll off of him in waves, not even needing empathy to feel it. She sighs and looks at him*
Look. You don't have to come with me. I'm gonna try to fix you, if you want that. Of course, if you weren't in the right state of mind, you'd tell me you don't want it anyways....
*She sighs and looks at the girl*
Hey, Seishin. He's not normally like this, no? He's usually.....better? More friendly? Not as pissy and wanting to kill something?

Zero gritted his teeth in anger. "Pissy, huh!" Zero screamed in his head. The Crimson Red and Black aura flared up, almost visible. He took a deep breath to calm down. "I want this evil subsided or gone. This feeling....is horrible." Zero managed to say without shouting in rage.

"I-I don't think he is n-normally like this..." she said to the girl, stopping a few feet from them. She looked at him and shuddered slightly. "Um... do you k-know where it's c-coming from...?" she asked Zero nervously, her voice shaking.

It comes from himself, dear.
*Celest looks at him again. She uses her powers of mental Pressure to coax the original Zero back.*
Will you come back to me, Zero-kun? Will you go back to your original self? This new Zero can be suppressed for a while. Come back and lock him away~
*She gently coaxes the original Zero back and locks away the new one. She watches as his red eye fades back to their natural color.*
He's not going to stay behind that lock for a long time. There's a limit to how much my ability works, you know.

Zero felt her mind coax him back into full control of his body. That malevolent evil that was there just a second ago was locked away. For now. He felt the pains start to ease away, his body going into a relaxed state. "Thank you. I know that this is only temporary, but atleast ot will give me time to figure out what is happening to me." Zero said. The soft, caring look came back into Zero's eyes, and the harshness had been replaced with kindness in his voice.

Hasuhana relaxed as Zero returned to normal, and she looked anxiously at him. "W-what was that...?" she muttered, talking to herself. She fiddled anxiously with the strap of her bookbag, still nervous about whatever caused that change of personality.

*Celest nods*
Glad to be of help. It's good that you know what needs to be done.
*She turns to Seishin*
That was a part of himself that he hasn't come into terms with, you can say...
*She bows to the two of them*
Pleased to meet you. My name is Celest, a prefect of this school~

Zero smiled. "I am Zero Kaji. Last remaining heir of the Kaji clan bloodline." Zero said, bowing respectfully to her. "Well, the remaining member of the Kaji Clan, I should say." Zero said again, rubbing the back of his neck.

"S-Seishin Hasuhana... daughter of the Eiiwaraa haven..." she mumbled, looking down. She was always uncomfortable around heirs, or royalty, or big authority figures. It didn't help he was a human.

*Celest nods to the two of them*
Are you alright now? Do either of you need any assistance whatsoever? If you need help, just call me~
*She giggles at Zero*
I think I like you better like this. Try to keep your own body, neh?

Zero blushed a bit at what Celest said. He tipped his head down, to hide his rosy red cheeks. "I'll do my absolute best to keep my own body." Zero murmered. "And i'm not really royalty, I'm just the last of my bloodline." Zero added.

"Sounds the s-same," Hasuhana whispered, to quiet for anyone to here her. THen she looked back up at Celest and Zero. She tilted her head to the side a little. "A-are you alright then...?" she asked Zero, not just meaning the strange occurrence, but also just how he was feeling about it.

*Celest hears something in the distance and frowns a little bit*
It seems I am needed elsewhere~ I think I shall take my departure now and leave you two alone.
*She giggles at that*
Farewell. I hope we meet again under more pleasant circumstances~
*She fades to wind, her laughter still whispering throughout the halls.*
